FAQ’s

Q: WHAT DOES “CATEGORY-PROTECTED” MEAN?

A: This means there is only one plumber, one printer, one fitness trainer, one DJ, etc. The exceptions you will see are in professions which have specialties. (i.e. one criminal attorney, one lemon law attorney, one estate planning attorney, one health insurance professional, one life insurance professional, etc.)

The value of a group like this is the exclusivity and loyalty that is created when only one company is allowed per business category. Whatever your category may be, you can feel confident that no member of the group will be promoting the same type of product or service.

Q: IS MY BUSINESS CATEGORY OPEN?

A: If you see your category listed on the homepage of this site, it’s likely the group is actively seeking a business like yours! Whether you see your category on the homepage or not, send a simple e-mail to Membership Chair, Pamela Dimry at pdimry@insidescv.com. Inform her about your business and she will let you know if there is an opening for you at this time.

Q: HOW LARGE IS THE GROUP?

A: The group currently has over 60 members. (Jan 2011)

Q: WHAT ARE THE FEES?

A: The first year’s annual dues are $200. Each year after that, renewal dues are $150. Each member also pays quarterly dues to cover the cost of their breakfasts. The quarterly dues are $270 (and may be reduced by $25 for recruiting a new member.)

Q: WHAT IS THE COMMITMENT?

A: Currently, each member is required to provide a minimum of 5 referrals each month. For attendance requirements – each member is allowed a maximum of 4 absences in a quarter. Attendance at quarterly socials is also mandatory.

Q: HOW DO I JOIN?

A: First confirm that your category is open (see above for information about this.) If it is, then check the calendar and find the next two consecutive Friday morning meetings you will be able to attend. (You must attend two consecutive weeks to qualify.) After your second Friday meeting, you will be given an application, and a Board member will meet with you in the following week. This is called an “inspection.” On the third Friday, you will not attend and the group will vote on your membership. If admitted to the group, you will immediately begin attending meetings as a regular member.
